Running a responsible business includes making some thoughtful decisions, looking at the bigger picture and long term impact.
Saving Our Animal Kingdom
As a token to improving water and air quality for humanity and animal life, we are 100% committed to working with animal protection charities. Therefore, we pledge that a percentage of our profits will be donated to World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
WWF works to help local communities conserve the natural resources they depend upon; transform markets and policies toward sustainability; and protect and restore species and their habitats. Their efforts ensure that the value of nature is reflected in decision-making from a local to a global scale.
Today, human activities put more pressure on nature than ever before, but it’s also people who have the power to change this trajectory. Together, we can address the greatest threats to life on this planet and protect the natural resources that sustain and inspire us.

The Ellen MacArthur Foundation put global textile industry emissions at 1.2 billion tonnes of CO2 equivalent per-year. Therefore, we aim to reduce our CO2 emissions by only working with manufactures that process their hemp and textile production in one country.
As hemp can absorb four times as much carbon dioxide than the average plant, we are continuously offsetting a proportion of the energy and carbon emissions we produce for the production and shipping of our goods. The more we develop a demand for hemp textiles, the more carbon dioxide we can offset!
The Cultiva Corporation is always striving to work with the local community. As a member of the Oxford Low Carbon organisation, we are continuously sharing information on how hemp and other natural resources can be used to reduce the city’s carbon footprint.
When it comes to Cultiva design work, it is important for us to be organic! We ensure all of the cotton material that we work with is organically certified by Global Textile Organic Standard. We are continuously working with our hemp fibre farmers, to ensure the best practices are used to improve the soil and to develop the strongest fibrous stalk. Secondly, our products are coloured with natural dyes, some of which are also certified by GOTS.
We consider the full cycle of every product from seed to shelf, to waste when it's finished its life. This is how we make fabric decisions on the design process, especially when it comes to working with non-natural fibres. We aim to have a 100% biodegradable hemp range. A small percentage of our product uses spandex for elastic properties to enable products to have a comfortable fit. Through some clever development, we will strive towards one day being 100%.
To prove the longevity of our garments, we want to ensure each item is recycled after use and put back into our circular system of materials. When finished with your garment, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you a free return label. You will then receive a 25% discount off your next purchase. These garments are often remade into new products or sold through our second hand thrift shop.
We use recycled and recyclable materials in all of our packaging. Our hangtags are 100% recyclable and biodegradable hemp card. The parcel bags used to protect garments during transit are made from cornstarch or kraft paper.
